I know you cannot wait for it to be five o’ clock so you can bolt out of there to where else, Happy Hour!!!!!! New York City is the mecca for happy hours and everybody loves them. It’s the place to see and be seen. There are a slew of choices in the city, and it could be overwhelming. This list is more of a food happy hour where you guys can get great grub for nothing since I know all of you are well versed with the drinking deals already. Let’s start the week!

Monday Blues No More With $1 Oysters: Head to the Mermaid Inn in the East Village.  They have a generous drink menu for happy hour, appetizers, and of course dollar oysters (east coast oysters). Charming little place, its hip and fun. They also have outdoor seating for those gorgeous summer afternoons and they take reservations.

Tuesday Is $1 Taco Tuesday: At Devil Hop Grill (one of my favorite bars) in the East Village, order one of their amazing Belgian beers during happy hour and get dollar tacos. This goes on all day and all night long! Their tacos are actually good sized and so mouthwatering good. They offer chicken (i think the best one), chorizo (really good flavor), ground beef, and veggie. All are too good to pass up. The salsa that comes with it is delicious, I swear it has magical powers. I’ve been known to inhale ten tacos at a time. The bartenders are super cool and friendly. Our favorite bartender is Nick and he looks like Harry Potter. Super fun. They have televisions everywhere so you can watch the game as well.

Wednesday Humpday Wings: What better way to get through humpday than  delicious, messy, greasy, oh so good chicken wings and beer?! At 1849 Restaurant in Greenwich Village where you get 55 cent wings and 7 dollar pitchers. Wings are pretty good, down it with ice cold beer and you’re all set. The bar is huge, they have an upstairs and plush red velvet couches downstairs.

Thirsty Thursdays With Sake And Sushi: Let’s add a little Asian persuasion to the mix. It’s so difficult to find good sushi here so I was thrilled when I came across Jin in the Lower East Side. They have an amazing happy hour deal thats $3.50 for sake, beer, and wine, and all the items on the hh menu. Sushi, gyoza, salads, shumai, yakitori galore! The space is really nice, they have a large countertop seating so you can sit by the sushi chefs if thats what floats your boat and relaxing ambience. The sushi is fresh and really good, especially for the price. Let’s get our sake on and kanpai!!

Flex Your Mussel Friday: It’s time to close off the work week with something yummy and Flex Mussels HappyHour is the way to go! They have an amazing deal for hh thats all you can eat mussels for $20 bucks!!!! Bonus- half price drinks and dollar oysters as well. If you are a seafood lover, you will love love love this place. They have different broth flavors for their mussels like the mexican (chipotle!! chorizo, calamari) or thai (coconut broth, lemongrass, ginger) or bombay (curry, cinnamon, star anise). Of course they have the original broths as well, but ive only scraped the surface, there are more flavors to choose from. I can stay there and eat buckets and buckets of their mussels all night long! Their menu is wonderful, the vibe is cool and modern, and definitely a great way to start your weekend off right.
